Placed on the Lower Danube, with the seashore beautifully washed by the Black Sea waves, it shares its borders with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and Moldova to the Nort-Eest and east, and Bulgaria to the South.

How To Get There
By Plane

By plane: there are 14 airports
in Romania, 9 of which
have regular international flight services.
The main gateway is the Henri Coandă
International Airport
(near Bucharest).

By Train

The rail network stretches all over the country from Bucharest to Timișoara, Cluj Napoca or Iași.

By Car

Some of the national roads are part of the European route scheme. European routes passing through Romania: E58; E60; E70; E85; E79; E81; E68; E87; E574; E576; E581; E583; E671; E771.

Climate

About the weather

Romania is a great year-round tourist destination. Our country has temperate continental climate meaning hot summers with heavy storms and cold winters. The months of May, June, July, August and September have nice weather with a pleasant temperature. On average, the coolest month is January.

How to dress:

Lightweights are worn in summer on the coast and in low inland areas. Warmer clothes are needed in winter and throughout the year in the uplands. Rainwear is recommended throughout the year.
