Spectacular gorges, fascinating valleys and winding roads leading to caves or to stunning glacial relief.
All of them compose an important part of the Romania’s most precious wilderness.

Places
Southwest of Cluj-Napoca, the popular Apuseni are dotted with caves and forested trails, with a world of subterranean rivers and a 3500-year-old underground glacier. Also, Iron Gates National Park is the perilously narrow gorge that separates Romania from Serbia and has bedeviled sailors since Roman times. WILDERNESS
The View
Romania is a land of great natural beauty. The terrain is more or less equally distributed between mountains, hills and plateaus and plains. Mile after mile of precipitous tree-covered slopes, home to bears, wolves and wildcats will enchant your senses. The range is 900 miles long, of which more than 12,000 square miles are considered “high-value conservation areas”.
