The Story
Flowering meadows, haystacks, herds of sheep and sheepdogs. Transhumance tradition is for thousands of years the most important practice of grazing since Roman times and the Middle Ages in the Romanian land. Consisting of seasonal movement of herds of cattle between pastures summery, generally in areas with relief grasslands, and wintering sites where are lowland areas and mild climate in winter. Traditional Sheppard dishes are widely spread throughout Romania.

How it’s made
If you visit a sheepfold by far you will feel the fragrance of sheep stew pot. Cheeses fall through excellence in culinary tradition and consumed as such (urda, smoked cheese, burduf cheese) or are prepared depending on you tastes. Traditionally cheese is served with polenta: bulz (Shepherd typical product containing polenta, cheese, egg and bacon) or balmus (in a skillet melt butter over it plus cheese and sprinkle corn flour with cream)
