Story
A simple but delightful dessert, reminiscent of childhood, and makes you miss your grandparents and their wood oven, when you waited enthusiastically for it to bake. Borrowed from the Greeks but elegantly dressed with local ingredients, Romanian pies are a special native dish. They are happily prepared for any big celebration such as Easter, Christmas, Palm Sunday and naturally bring with them special local rituals.

How it’s made
Traditional household products like cheese; potatoes, cabbage, pumpkin, meat or fresh local fruits are coated with a layer of dough and baked on the stove or in the oven. Sweet or salty, hob or oven baked, pies can be served hot or cold. It is essential that the pies to be shared with loved ones.
